About Goucher Golf:
The men’s and women’s golf programs at Goucher were launched in the 2017-2018 athletic season. The men’s program won their conference championship in their inaugural season (earning an automatic qualifier to the national championship) and the women’s program finished 3rd in their conference championship. Both of these new programs have already achieved an impressive competitive standard and are working towards becoming national championship contenders in their respective divisions.
Goucher’s graduate assistant position is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in beginning a career as a college golf coach. The graduate assistant will work in conjunction with the head coach to support the program’s recruiting, player development, practices, and tournaments. The graduate assistant will earn essential experience for a future career in coaching. This position affords its holder with a high level of responsibility and opportunity. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE).
This position, available beginning August 2019 is approximately 20 hours per week and will require weekend and evening work, including team travel. Applicant must be willing to work with various departments on campus and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
This two-year position includes full tuition remission, competitive stipend and partial meal plan.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree (or be completing a bachelor’s degree prior to August of 2019) with at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to the graduate program. Preference will be given to candidates with collegiate golf experience. Candidates must have at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
