Develop student-athletes and team success through sport specific training and event participation. Students will be provided a positive in-season sport experience and develop physically during department guided off-season training.
Essential Job Functions:
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change to meet the needs of the District/program. Current essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Teach the sport by using the Six Pillars of Sportsmanship-Respect, Integrity, Honesty, Teamwork, Leadership and Personal Responsibility.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
NMAA By-Laws, policies. NFHS Sport specific rules. SFPS District/Athletic Department Handbook, In-Service Training and, district policies and operational guides. NFHS/NIAAA Coaching Expectations.
Applicant must meet all NMAA/PED requirements for Coaching Licensure.
High School graduation, two years sport specific participation/training/and/or prior coaching experience at the high school level or above.
College degree with prior high school coaching experience.
Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to):
Sport specific implement usage/management/inventory.
Must be able to fully perform the duties associated with coaching: lift 50 pounds, carry items to sites, maintain professional relations/communications with supervisor, parents, student-athletes, the media, boosters, officials, and co-workers. Computer usage is required to maintain/fulfill MaxPreps and NMAA requirements.
Indoor/outdoor facility usage. Practices/events/games will take place inside and/or out of doors pending weather conditions. Nights/Weekend are required per scheduling. Travel to/from scheduled events will be on district bus. SDL2017
