Major Responsibilities: The Head Coach provides leadership, direction and oversight of all coaching, recruiting and training of student-athletes as well as planning, promotion and administration for an NCAA Division I women’s golf program. *Organizes, prepares and conducts individual and team practices, training and competition; *Recruits student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations; *Coordinates all strategic aspects of the program; *Manages daily operations and supervises all administrative activities; *Manages the budget; *Oversees academic progress and personal development of student-athletes in consultation with the Student Success Team; *Supervises assistant/volunteer coaches; *Ensures compliance with University, Big South and NCAA rules and regulations; *Participates in fundraising and public relations activities to promote the program and athletic department as a whole; *Represents the University at various institutional programs and externally to media government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents and the general public; and *Contributes to the overall success of the athletics department by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or his designee.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Three (3) years of experience working with professional or intercollegiate golf. Ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds and work flexible hours. Must understand and apply NCAA rules and regulations and pass NCAA recruiting test. Must possess excellent communication, organizational and computer skills.
