Duties and responsibilities include:
Attend, run, and plan golf practice sessions, consisting of implementing drills and activities to instruct student-athletes in the proper execution of golf techniques.
Teach golf skills to student athletes in order to enhance their athletic ability and teamwork while developing leadership skills and life learning outcomes.
Coach student athletes during match, providing specific feedback to athletes regarding golf skills and techniques.
Develop, teach and implement a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that helps teach proper mechanics for fitness that minimizes injuries and trains athletes for success on the course and after their golf career has ended.
Support the academic progress of the student athletes involved in the golf program by organizing study tables, tutoring as necessary, and providing access to academic support as needed.
Develop opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in the NAIA Champions of Character program. Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, value of education and service to others
Plan and execute the schedule of all contests and practices in compliance with CCAC and NAIA regulations.
Coordinate practices, fulfill match duties, and ensure compliance with all NAIA rules. Make men’s golf scholarship funding decisions (if applicable).
Fulfill associated duties such as speaking engagements. Recruit quality student athletes as members of the program
Ensure facility is ready for all home contests.
Maintain equipment and repair as needed. Assist with merchandise and gear orders to maximize budgets in support of the student athlete experience.
Manage the women’s golf operating budget.
Assist with education of new staff on compliance, IU specific policies and procedures, and NAIA and CCAC compliance information.
Supervise and train assistant coach(es), graduate assistants, interns, and/or student workers.
Work with the Sports Information Director to develop and provide accurate information to maintain the cross-country program marketing and web page. Provide feedback for the SID to nominate and select weekly and seasonal conference and national awards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED and coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level.
Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Event and personnel management experience. Knowledge of NAIA student-athlete and institutional compliance rules. Knowledge of rules governing the play of various games. Basic skills in information technology. Ability to utilize standard office equipment and PC.
