High school golf rankings – Top 3 golfers by state

Junior golfers sharing a championship moment
Reading Time: 5 minutes

Ever wonder who the top high school golfers are in each state? The National High School Golf Association started producing high school golf rankings in 2017 for the 2016 and 2017 boys high school golf season. NHSGA provides a national rankings for high school golf, but also state leaderboards ranking high school golfers across divisions within their state.

Below highlights the top 3 high school golf state tournament performers by state. Given some high school state tournaments are one round versus two rounds, the average score per round is used for the rankings. The top 3 performances are based on average differential which include the difficulty (slope/rating) of the golf course played. This means even though another player in the state may have shot a lower score, when including the difficulty of the golf course in the calculation, the player with the lowest average differential will come out on top.

Enjoy! Here are links to the full Boys National High School Golf Rankings and State Golf Leaderboards
